i have noticed in a section on mn quite a few people saying they are looking for work. now a petition that when read is looking for donations for an auction.
what are the rules on this?

that petition one is in about forty six topics (well, that may be an exaggeration)

I was going to post something sarcastic, but wasn't sure whether that would be appropriate, so I sat on my hands for a bit

is it the one about a disabeled child?

I'd noticed a few nanny/childminders (who all seemed new to me, not the usual posters in those professions iyswim) saying they were looking for work, surely its the same as advertising a business?

2shoes · 02/03/2008 22:01

thats what I thought sn seems to be turning into a small ad place.

Childminders have longstanding permission to advertise spaces (as I recall) MN made the decision years ago - but they may have changed recently (& not told us?)

2shoes · 02/03/2008 22:05

no these are people more or less looking for jobs. like I say i am just unsure of rules.

Would make sense I suppose, I think if a regular (sorry to go there again!) poster that was a childminder/nanny etc was to say they had spaces or were available for work, that's fine IMO but wasn't sure about people registering purely for that reason, similar to the for sale boards I suppose.

If you are concerned about a post click on the red exclamation mark in the top right hand side & explain that you aren't sure what do MN think?

2shoes · 02/03/2008 22:14

did do. but hate to waste their time

OP posts:

They really don't mind

MN is self policing in the main - if you don't question we will get lots of crap

thanks
