Is there really no control over the quality of ads shown on Mumsnet? I’ve got it uo to here (well over my head) of seeing those two images below 🤢🤢🤢😵‍💫

Use Brave browser. Bye bye ads and other nonsense that slows sites down for no reason.

We're sorry these ads are annoying you but they appear to be AdChoices ones, not ones that we've placed ourselves - you can tell by the blue cross and triangle in the top right corner. If you click on the triangle you can send feedback to Google stating why you don't want to see this ad any more. (It may take several goes before Google get the message).

Unless Google deems this ad to be dodgy it's likely to keep on cropping up on multiple sites, not just ours, so keep hitting the X and hopefully it will eventually stop showing for you.

Once you've done the above, clearing your cache and cookies should prevent you from seeing this again!

LilyMumsnet it’s only on the phone (not the app) and I am not shown the ad anywhere else, just on Mumsnet. I’ve reported and removed the ad countless times over the last several days and that is the only way I’ve ever interacted with the company. I have not googled it it nor been on its website. Since you’re saying it’s a personalised app, I’m not sure what I would have to google first for this to be suggested to me!

I get them too OP and it’s certainly not come from my search history.
I regularly delete my history and that seems to help for a short while

I've been seeing that ad all the time on here too. I could tell what the tardigrade was. Had absolutely no idea what the hairy belly was supposed to be so I'm glad to have had that confusion sorted 😂

I got a screenshot yesterday to send my friend. I got the bum bag and the cuddly skin mite thing, and a urinal (?) and an adult dummy thing. So weird.

Yeah, Temu ads are horrible. Not sure what you can do, but I hate them. Horrible pictures.

I believe it’s in the gift of MN web masters to tell their 3rd party advertising gurus what adverts they don’t want included on their sites.
This one is particularly unappealing so might be worth getting in touch with MN HQ to get it replaced with something more acceptable.

The cat poo one was extraordinarily disgusting and repeated attempts to report it via the mobile site led to ever more appearances of the damn thing. The battery drainage was unreal! There's no way this Temu stuff comes from my browsing history on my phone. And as pp says ^^, MN is the only site with ads where this Temu stuff appears.

I switched to my laptop for MNing which has an ad blocker, which is a shame as I'm now not supporting MN by looking at the occasional ad in order to thanks for the free site.
