Autism thread deleted

Hi there,

I saw this thread has been deleted, however I found it contained lots of very helpful advice for my DC with autism.

Please would you move all the posts (except for those by PBP) into a thread on another topic e.g. children with so special needs?

@MNHQ - is the person who started that thread the same person who has started other similar threads about autism?

Is there a way for us to spot them?

It seems awful that any parent who starts a thread about a child with autism is now going to be viewed with suspicion.

That threat was filled with horrible ableist comments.

Hi Starseeking - we try not to delete whole threads if we can possibly help it, especially when there may be some useful posts. However we could see the thread in question had been started by a previously banned poster and contained some inflammatory and ableist comments so we felt it best to take the whole thing down. We really don't like to give returning trolls a platform.

CrazyArmadilloLady if you ever have any concerns about a thread, please just hit the report button so we can check it out as soon as possible. We hate it when genuine Mumsnetters get drawn into a thread that's not been posted in good faith, so the sooner we can take a look the better.
