How do you get a thread deleted is it just report a post or something else?

Report your opening post on the thread and explain why you’d like it deleted.

@Wouldyoubeoffendedbythisreview at this time of the night mnhq are taking a well deserved nap but if you go on to the Nightwatch page and ask them to hide the thread they usually can assist

Hi @Wouldyoubeoffendedbythisreview - we've removed your thread and replied to your report.

@JoMumsnet It annoys me no end that there is no clear process or system for what threads are deleted. It just seems to be decided by the moderator who picks up the request and what mood they're in at the time!

There was a thread recently (about PS Fifa Points being refunded) that I had saved as it was full of excellent advice and information. Something I really thought "I'm going to save this in case I'm ever in a similar situation and I can make use of the advice here". Today, its gone for "privacy reasons". I'd read the entire thread; there was little to no info in there that would make me think "Oh, that's Jane from down the road!"

On occasion, I've had legitimate reasons for requesting threads be removed and I've been told no...but a valuable thread that was pages and pages of excellent advice and updates is now gone. Therefore negating the whole purpose of Mumsnet as site entirely.

You shouldn't just be deleting threads willy nilly; put in a system and stick to it.
