I posted a thread yesterday I really regret during a time of really poor mental health and irrationality and my privacy fears and the nasty comments are causing me massive distress. I'm also terrified of the Daily Mail reporting on it as I've only just found at that they do this to people on here. I've reported the thread twice now and I've had no response. I have severe mental health problems and I'm getting constant panic attacks and have not slept at all overnight and feeling ill because of the stress of this. I just want it deleted, please someone help. I can't take any more of this.

To bring it to Mumsnet attention you have to @ them

Report your original thread and they'll action it

Click on your initial post in the thread a report it, asking them to delete it

SweetOne92 · 05/08/2023 09:31

I've already reported it twice and had no response

Hi OP - we have already removed your thread for you. We hope that sets your mind at rest but please shout if not.
Best wishes,
MNHQ

They've just responded and taken it down, thank god. Hopefully I can calm down now as I feel absolutely dreadful. I think I will now be deleting my account so I don't end up in this situation again.

@mumsnet

One of the biggest misconceptions on here!

I didn't see your thread OP but I'm sorry you got nasty comments. Some people on MN hide behind their computer screens/phones and write some truly awful things. Hopefully you can breathe and unwind a bit now. Flowers

Thank you. It was truly awful, the worst I've ever experienced and I've been using the internet for over twenty years now. I also didn't realise that the Daily Mail goes round lifting stories at random and publishing them until after I'd posted, which has been part of the reason I was awake all night panicking in case it happened to me. I will no longer be posting threads on this site and will probably delete my account shortly. The fact you can't delete your own threads is ridiculous, I've never come across any other site that does this.

Why @Tippexy? It seemed to work.

I think you’re over-reacting to a minority of comments, OP. I read that thread several hundred comments in, and most posters were brisk and practical, pointing out that you need to cut your coat to fit your cloth, and some gave you lots of practical suggestions based on their own experiences of inexpensive wedding planning. Some were very kind.

Anything you post on the internet is no longer under your control, and can be lifted/copied/responded by other parties…

There’s no such user as ‘mumsnet’ or ‘MNHQ.’ They saw this thread as it’s in Site Stuff. The way to draw their attention to a thread elsewhere on the forum is to report the post.

All newspapers lift stories from here , not sure why you are so concerned about DM and not other papers.
