You’ve pulled the IVF and NHS thread, are we not allowed to have a debate or difference of opinion anymore? The poll was 50/50 so clearly was a good topic of discussion.

I'm not surprised it was pulled. Very much not in the spirit for a site which supports thousands of users with infertility.

(And I conceived easily, no chip on my shoulder - but some comments were awful and it was only going to get worse.)

Right decision by site imo

They’ve taken that thread down but leave nasty ones up about autism and ones from total pervs. Mumsnet moderating is fucked up.

RunningFromInsanity · 26/07/2023 13:16

So we can’t discuss or debate any topic which might upset people?

That's right, no topics that might upset people is ever discussed or debated on mumsnet.

🙄

That was a horrible thread and I'm glad it's been taken down.

I think the thread was fine as it’s about a story that’s in the news. If individual posts broke talk guidelines, they should have deleted them but left the thread up.

Hi there. We know it's annoying when a thread you're enjoying is removed. The trouble with this particular thread is that it was upsetting a lot of people who are experiencing infertility and that just didn't sit right with us. They're finding the experience painful enough already.

Discussing what the NHS should or shouldn't fund is of course a valid and important discussion and one that affects all of us. However a thread that just focuses on IVF did feel especially targeted towards one specific group.
