so if someone has posted a long long post and you want to highlight a single part, can you make it that you can select a certain part and then it just quotes that bit

OP posts:
Choupette7 · 26/07/2023 09:42

Copy and paste?

Choupette7 · 26/07/2023 09:50

Just the section that you want to quote.

Mrsjayy · 26/07/2023 09:52

Yes copy/ cut and paste I don't see why there would be a separate function.

Drews · 26/07/2023 09:53

You shouldn't be able to edit what someone else has posted.

If you want to highlight a part of a quote use copy and paste with bold.

renamedbutsame · 26/07/2023 09:56

it is not a problem, as long you stay politically correct as i find out LOOOOL

renamedbutsame · 26/07/2023 09:56

musnet blocks people who use the word abortion, muslim and prayer. Do not use these three

Except you just used them and you're still here so...

Choupette7 · 26/07/2023 10:00

Pretty sure I've seen these words used multiple times on mumsnet and not deleted.

renamedbutsame · 26/07/2023 10:00

Nope. I am not here with the way i used to write when they did it. They are alarmingly against any form of free speech.

No they don't.

toastofthetown · 26/07/2023 10:02

I would like this feature. You can copy and paste, but quoting via the quote fiction is neater, and if people quote each other, you can click see all and quickly see the whole exchange, which is missed by copy-pasting.

Because you have no business coming into a forum and pushing your outdated beliefs onto other people. You have no idea why people choose abortion and it's not for you to judge.

No they aren't. Unless you are doing those things along with a hefty dose of hate speech/racism/other offensive language.

SoupDragon · 26/07/2023 10:12

Not entirely sure why you're posting about it on this thread though.

this is what I mean - still show as a quote, but only part of it

I'm quite aware of copy & paste, its not my first time on the internet

Yes +1!
So you can see it in nice formatted quote form, but it's clear which specific bit you're responding to

Helpful when the OP wrote 6000 words with no paragraphs...

(I think quotes should also have a link to jump back to that post)
