Is there need for a upf board?

I’m seeing loads of upf threads all over the place and I’m wondering if there is an interest in a upf board?

Not every topic ever mentioned needs it's own board

Bholli · 01/07/2023 19:11

No 😂

No, but there is an increased interest in being upf and I think it would be easier for people to find out information.

If there isn’t enough people interested then fair enough.

I don't think there are that many threads - there are a couple of long-ish running ones and the odd other one. Interest will die down soon in any event I'm sure.

What’s upf?

What’s upf?

Ultra processed food. There has been a lot of media coverage of it recently and many people are trying to reduce their in take of it.

BEING upf? Like identifying as same? Please God, be a typo..!

Naah.
General Health, Weight Loss Chat or Food/Recipes.
Pick one.

Not sure it needs its own topic

I'm massively interested in UPF and I wouldn't want a whole board for it, most of the threads are fairly shortlived which is why people keep starting new ones. Last week my "active" page had at least 4 threads about colonoscopies at the same time and at least 3 about ozempic, and I don't think they need their own board either. A few weeks ago every third thread was about IBS.

lljkk · 01/07/2023 20:37

I need someone to slap my wrists & make me "hide" not read whenever anyone starts an UPF thread. Latest is that fruit juice is on the Evil foods list. My blood pressure can't take the nonsense.

Yarnorama · 01/07/2023 20:39

There's a food board which already has posts about UPFs, seems a logical place to post, not sure why one type of food needs its own board.

Allchangename354 · 01/07/2023 20:52

im interested in upf but don’t think it needs a separate topic

Yeah but red sauce or brown sauce?

ScottBakula · 01/07/2023 21:13

>>> whispers shyly, <<< brown

Hello, @Caravanvirgin thanks v much for your suggestion. When MNers request a new board, we usually check to see how much demand there is for it. We're not sure UPF is sufficiently broad to warrant its own topic and does seem best suited to the existing Food board or possibly Weight loss chat - but we're open to feedback.
