Android app ads

Woken up to a practically unusable app.

Why @mnhq, can you add adverts to the android app, but you can't add voting, automatic user names or any of the functions all the other platforms get?

I understand ads in the scroll feed buy this is taking the piss.

My usage, along with lots of others most probably, is going to become non existent.

Or I'll install ad blockers.

Hi WTFAreYouForReal - we're really sorry you're having problems using the android app. Can you please let us know which ads have been causing problems, and in what way they're making the site unusable?

If you can describe exactly what's happening, such as the ads seem to be making the site slow, or you're not able to scroll past the ads, we'll try to work out what's going wrong. And if you're able to send us a screen recording, that would be really helpful.

Hi again @WTFAreYouForReal. Can you give us any more detail? Is it just that the app is slow all the time? Or is it when you're scrolling, or loading new threads, or something else? We are doing lots of work to improve the app at the moment that we hope will make a big difference in the future to its usability, but we can see if there's anything more we can do to help in the meantime if you can give us a bit more info.

@HebeMumsnet If I open the app, it works as usual, for maybe two threads I click in and out of and then just slows down to unusable. I have to close the app and reopen it. Which takes forever. Sometimes it just shuts itself then reopens and has refreshed the feed. Which also takes forever.

Even scrolling the feed just stops. I have to wait ages then it will move, then probably crash. Its just not worth using.
