How do I switch between names on the app, please?

I decided to see if this ⬆️ one was available after watching Rick Astley & Blossoms on iplayer and don't seem to be able to change back to my usual one 🤦🏻‍♀️

Can we just check, are you trying to change your username in your account, or switch between two different usernames at the point of posting? If the latter, have you posted on the same thread before? You can no longer post under two different usernames on the same thread so it might just be that that the system is objecting to. Could you see if you can change name on a different thread? One you've definitely not posted on before?

If that doesn't turn out to be it please do come back to us and we'll see if we can work out what's going on.

I have changed my name in my account and now want to change it back to my usual username. I've tried to do this in my MN settings both on the app and on the website. I seem to remember that there used to be a drop down menu that meant you could choose any username that you have previously registered.

Just type it in the box above message.

I've tried that. It won't let me backspace my current username on the app.

It will let me do it on the website though, but my main issue is that I don't seem to be able to change back to my default username.

Are you on the iOS app? If so click the three lines at the top on active, go to settings and replace the name with the one you want to use.

That's where I am trying to change it. I just get the message that the username I'm trying to use is already taken 🤯
