That thing is really annoying when it goes under the thread title and you have to position your cursor really carefully....

it is rather large

JanH · 12/12/2004 12:16

It's the changing numbers and picture that piss me off - I thought we'd made it perfectly clear when the issue of emoticons was discussed that we don't like things that MOVE!!!

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 12/12/2004 12:20

But if it gives MN money, I can live with moving. Although I've certainly noticed it, it's not given me any problems.

WigWamBam · 12/12/2004 12:20

Yes, I hate the fact it moves and the picture changes too - really distracting.

WigWamBam · 12/12/2004 12:21

I know it gives MN money and that's great - doesn't mean we have to love the form of the advert though Grin

xmashampermunker · 12/12/2004 12:42

I don't like that it moves, but I don't mind it being there.

WigWamBam · 14/12/2004 11:20

What's really annoying me about it is that I click on a thread, the box moves everything down, and I end up on the wrong thread. Perhaps I just need a bit more patience to wait until the box is there, but I keep forgetting ...

TheHollyAndTheTwiglett · 14/12/2004 18:29

How long does it have to stay there?

It is quite intrusive TBH and a tad irritating

and as someone who used to like Discovery Health .. its a little counter-productive in this house ..

JustineTimeforXmas (mn) · 16/12/2004 20:57

Sorry this is a pain - it's booked until the beginning of January. We'd rather not have any ads on mumsnet and we say no to a lot of things like pop-ups, pop-unders, overlays etc because we are aware of how irritating they are but the truth is we couldn't operate without them - we simply don't generate nearly enough revenue from other sources to even think about breaking even. And even with banner and button advertising it's a struggle. Maybe one day we'll wake up and find some rich benefactor has made a huge subscription and we can take 'em all down. Until then.... but I'll talk to Tech and see if there's an answer to the particular issue of clicking in the wrong place.
Best,

Justine, Carrie and Rachel

KangaSantaMummy · 16/12/2004 20:59

thanks I actually am not personally bothered by them

I just ignore them to be honest
