Why can I bookmark but not watch a thread I'm interested in?

What is the difference?

Can you let us know how you are accessing the site and the device you are using. Also, is it that you can't see the 'watch thread' option or that when you try to use it, it isn't working for you?

If you bookmark your place on a thread then it will take you back to where you finished reading if/when you click on that thread again.

If you bookmark a thread and choose "watch this thread" then it will come up in your "I'm watching" list and you can easily see if there are any new posts since you bookmarked it.
