More unwanted e.mails from MN

MonumentalLentil · 19/06/2023 11:07

I have had an issue with e.mails before. I turned off e.mail notifications as soon as I signed up.

I am getting e.mails from MN AGAIN! I do not want them.

Not for any reason, I do not wish to be constantly updated, acknowledged or pestered. I have reasons for not wanting them in my inbox. Two from Dawn on 17/6.

PLEASE stop sending me e.mails.

Hi there @MonumentalLentil. Thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like the emails you are getting aren't notifications about your posts on threads or newsletters etc (if you do get any of those, let us know and we can double check your settings) but are actually replies to reports you've sent in to us.

We do try to reply to every report we get so that people know what action if any was taken, and we also need to contact our users from time to time if there are any problems with their posts, so it is worth opening messages from us, particularly if they are headed 'Mumsnet calling' as those are the ones most likely to be a message directly for you rather than in response to a report.

If you don't wish to hear back from us you can always say 'please don't respond to me' in the report message. You might still get the odd mail from us when we've sent a group reply. That sometimes happens when several people have reported the same post, but sending us a note with the report stating specifically that you don't want a response should reduce this a bit. We hope that suggestion helps. Flowers

In that case I won't report any more.

There should be an option to refuse all e.mails and just use MN messages instead if it is really that important.

There are people who really do need privacy and this isn't it.

Could you set up a filter on your email to send all messages from MN directly to your trash? I do that with lots of things I don't need.

I thought about that, however it should be necessary, I declined e.mails because it looked as if I was offered the choice to decline them but every so often I get e.mails.
It doesn't happen with any other sites. If it does I have blocked completely or left them if they persist.
I don't see why they have to be sent, why not just a PM, after all the facility is on the site, and I haven't declined that?

shouldn't be necessary

I don't have a block sender function on my e.mail, just looked.
