BeauLocks · 22/02/2008 09:44

Install kaspersky anti virus software and ALL ads, pop ups, etc will be gone. Bliss.

bratnav · 22/02/2008 09:45

It's awful, I don't care how much they are paying you MN Towers, we will all chip in to cover the cost of removing it, right ladies?

Wotzonked · 22/02/2008 10:00

thank you I thought I was the only one.
MNHQ would prefer it if you didn't block the ads Beau as it the ads finance the site.

So I do click on a few every now and again.

I just want it to gooooooooo awayyyyyyyyyy

I have emailed them too. I really should have better things to do.

Wotzonked · 22/02/2008 14:31

I'd wish they'd get a room
maybe first choice don't have any!

I was just going to start a thread about this. It's most distracting when you're trying to read a serious post to have this canoodling couple in your peripheral vision.

2shoes · 23/02/2008 23:59

i want to shoot them

BumperliciousIsOneHotMother · 24/02/2008 08:50

I was just about to start a similar post. They are getting on my tits and I keep thinking it is Kerry Katona and her husband advertising their new freakshow. You must admit the bloke in the ad is pretty creepy looking!

Wotzonked · 24/02/2008 12:25

MNHQ has replied to an email I sent, which I thought I'd let you know about, so hopefully they'll be gone soon.

Thanks for coming back to me. I'll ensure that I take your comments into the
next editorial meeting.
In the meantime we're so sorry for any upset.
Best wishes,
Catherine

I emailed MNHQ, as I felt the ad could upset some people on MN. I am not usually sensitive, but on a forum where many Mner come for support because of many things including relationships, spouse bereavement etc, it could cause upset and put off a MNer from login on. Last week when the ad came on, there was some very sad things happening to a lot of MN in RL.

I know any advert content is not always know in advance by MN and they do have restrictions.

So any MNers please add you comments if you want to see it gone.

Again thanks Catherine for responding.

FWIW I am not the advert police. But it is a rubbish ad.

Wotzonked · 24/02/2008 12:37

kisrus

I have look at the link, no idea.

FairyMum · 24/02/2008 12:38

Is it not just a Boden-couple on holiday?

SoupDragon · 24/02/2008 12:42

"the ad could upset some people on MN"

Maybe we should stop any happy thread titles too since they are far more likely to offend/upset.

Wotzonked · 24/02/2008 12:43

Could be
Surley it would have captiosn though like

Anna loves drinking and eating out with her friends
Dave is a creepy lurch and as no mates, likes to grab a bite.

OP posts:
Wotzonked · 24/02/2008 12:44

YOu can click on threads, by choice.
MN like you to not block ads its revenue.

Soupy it's fine if you like it.

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 24/02/2008 12:59

It's an advert, that isn't exactly offensive, can MNHQ not do anything right?
Seems every advert gets complaints by someone, just ignore it.

SoupDragon · 24/02/2008 13:00

Most MNers use active conversations and are therefore exposed to Happy Thread Titles all the time, just the same as an advert.

SoupDragon · 24/02/2008 13:00

Have MNHQ said they don't like us to use ad blockers?

IamTheSpeedingHam · 24/02/2008 13:02

oh yes MNHQ ( who make money this way) please bow down low to the whiney whims

Wotzonked · 24/02/2008 13:04

They'd prefer it if you click on the ads, it brings in revenue to keep the site going.

It does rotate and its not always on.

MN do a lot of things right, that's why I like the site.

I will now ignore it by staying of MN for a while. Bye.
