Low Carb Bootcamp disclaimer

BIWI · 11/06/2023 16:11

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a disclaimer at the top of the Bootcamp topic - like you do for e.g. Relationships or General Health. Although we always try to write a disclaimer at the start of each Bootcamp, other threads (e.g. the sign-up or prep threads) tend not to have this. There could, potentially, be an issue here if someone is taking some form of medication or is pregnant or breast-feeding.

I have drafted something which I'll send to you if we can do this.

TIA

Hi there @BIWI. It's certainly something that's possible, I think. Could you send us over the sort of thing you're thinking of and we'll take a look? Or post it here if you like?

BIWI · 12/06/2023 10:27

Thanks Hebe. I'll email it to you.

What issue?

BIWI · 21/06/2023 14:39

@MantaKay low carbing often helps to reduce blood pressure, reverse diabetes and lower dangerous cholesterol. So if you start a low carb diet when you're taking medication for any of these conditions, you could find that your dosage is suddenly too high for you.

Over the years, many Bootcampers have been able to come off their medications completely, because of the benefits of a low carb diet.

So pregnant women could have low blood pressure issues?

BIWI · 21/06/2023 16:24

No - but if you're pregnant or breast-feeding, the general recommendation is to go lower carb, rather than very low carb, which is what the first two weeks of Bootcamp are.

It is confusing. In your first post you say "There could, potentially, be an issue " and now you say no issue . What carbs amount has no issue?

Cormoran · 22/06/2023 05:14

Is there a list of the conditions and medications?

BIWI · 22/06/2023 09:46

OK. I'm not playing your game @MantaKay

And Cormoran - this about a general disclaimer. Not playing your game either.
