School appeals

I think it would be helpful to have a separate topic under education for school appeals. What do others think?

Isn’t that a seasonal topic?

Schoolappealler · 10/06/2023 23:18

There seems to be a fair few in year appeals too, but I agree it’s mainly a spring, summer thing. It just would have been helpful to me to find all the advice in one place and not to be searching for info amid loads of threads about the relative merits of umpteen independent schools.

Fair point.

A separate area for the discussion of the different private schools might be useful...

Morning @Schoolappealler . We're always happy to consider things like this if there's enough call for it. We'll keep reading the thread and see how other posters feel about it.

@PuttingDownRoots

I agree the last few months all I have done is search for advice and looking at different threads. I have read really old posts for advice and it would be a lot easier if it was together.
I absolutely didn't realise how stressful doing an appeal would be & the advice on here has really helped me.

PatChaunceysFruitCake · 17/06/2023 22:04

I agree with @PuttingDownRoots. A separate area for private education would be much better.

TeenDivided · 18/06/2023 12:40

I think it is unnecessary as it is very seasonal.

The education threads go in seasons, the choosing state schools the appeals, the choosing private schools, the GCSE option y9, the GCSEs y11.

I also think a private schools one isn't needed (there is a boarding schools one which is more specific). Once they are in a school issues are 90% the same. Separating off private schools would also separate off discussions on general school related stuff which would be to the detriment of all posters.

Hi @Dashwood77 - we've withdrawn your post as we think you'd be best off starting a new thread of your own in our Secondary Education topic. We've mailed you to explain how to do that, and have included the text from your post so you can copy and paste it into your new thread.
