Large image for MN promoted link overlaying thread list

I'm using the desktop website, in Chrome and in Firefox, and I'm getting a large image overlaying the first few threads in the list for whichever topic I'm looking at. See the attached screenshot for what it looks like on the Site Stuff topic thread list. The image is an ad for a MN promoted thread, I think.

It's annoying, to say the least! Plus it obscures the first few threads.
