Why isn't my Active Convos updating?

MerylSqueak · 01/06/2023 22:15

Just that really. The last few days, the same conversations are repeatedly coming up with the same number of messages. For example, one keeps appearing ( so has had new messages) but has had 23 replies for days. I know someone has been on Mumsnet because my Threads I'm on has updated although these ones never appear in Active Convos. What's going on?

Hi @MerylSqueak

Sorry to hear you're having problems with the Active Convos list. Can you please let us know which device and browser you're using, and which version of the site. We'll happily take a closer look once we have a few more details.

Thanks in advance.

I'm not on the app. I'm using an android mobile and chrome. Thanks. It's now giving a message when I go to active convos saying 'Mumsnet says the page has expired '

Hi OP

Please could we ask you to try clearing your cache?

MerylSqueak · 03/06/2023 09:15

I cleared for the last week and it hasn't worked. Does it need to be for all time? I'd rather not do that if possible.

Hi again @MerylSqueak,

You could try a different browser or an incognito/private browser to see if active is working ok there first. If it is then it is most likely a problem with that browser and you will then need to clear your cache completely.

That said, it is possible to just clear your Mumsnet cache but it's a bit more technical. Here are some instructions for how to do it on android chrome: https://mobileinternist.com/clear-cache-specific-site-chrome.

How to clear cache for a specific site on Chrome - Mobile Internist

If you want to clear cache, cookies, or permissions for a specific site on Chrome, select padlock in Adress bar or navigate to Site settings.
