Yes, who are they? I've noticed loads of ads for them and an app has appeared on my phone that I'm sure I didn't deliberately download.

polkadotdalmation · 28/05/2023 11:09

Appears every day on my Facebook feed Never buy anything from Facebook ads after one disaster

Tortiemiaw · 28/05/2023 11:10

Yep. I've noticed this ad bloody everywhere!

ChokeToDeathOnThreePoundsOfMeat · 28/05/2023 11:15

Yes, I've noticed them everywhere too. Like the less acceptable version of Wish...

Dooopylally · 28/05/2023 11:21

I have ordered from them and the stuff came, and was fine - not great quality but I wasn't expecting that! Maybe they send out the first batch and the rest is a scam? But I definitely received my order. I thought that was why I kept seeing the ad on mumsnet.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 28/05/2023 11:25

Why are they scammers? Its just the new Wish. I know a few people who have used them with no issues.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 28/05/2023 11:26

They aren't scammers, it's just like Wish. Some of the stuff is crap, but I've had some real bargains. Why do you think they are scammers?

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 28/05/2023 11:29

I've used Temu several times and everything has been fine!

ZeroFuchsGiven · 28/05/2023 11:30

For the people who have used them, whats the delivery times like?

Nutterjacks · 28/05/2023 12:29

I've recently ordered from them, delivered within about 10 days.
Ordered mainly clothes and some jewellery. Sent all the clothing back.
The photos show vibrant colours and tops that look to be made of cotton fabric, however the actual items were nothing like the pictures. Drab colours and cheap silky fabric tops very cheaply made. The jewellery (beaded bracelet sets) were nice.
Luckily I paid through PayPal so if there are any issues with the refund, I'll get it back.

Nutterjacks · 28/05/2023 12:33

I have to add, they constantly bug me with alerts and messages, offering discounts trying to get me to order more stuff. Needless to say, when I've received my refund, I'll be deleting the app.

JoMumsnet · 29/05/2023 10:43

Hi @Iyiyiiii - sorry for the delay in responding.

We're sorry these ads are annoying you but they appear to be AdChoices ones, not ones that we've placed ourselves - you can tell by the blue cross and triangle in the top right corner. If you click on the triangle you can send feedback to Google stating why you don't want to see this ad any more. (It may take several goes before Google get the message).

thanks - I will do

(I would think that a site should have some control over what their site advertises)

JoMumsnet · 29/05/2023 13:06

Hi again Iyiyiiii - we do have control in that we can block adverts which are causing offence or are inappropriate, so please report any such ads - we'll remove them straight away.

But in this case, unless Google deems this ad to be dodgy it's likely to keep on cropping up on multiple sites, not just ours, so keep hitting the X and hopefully it will eventually stop showing for you.

It is clearly stated on each item of clothing what fabric it s made from.

Nutterjacks · 26/06/2023 14:27

@pinkginfizz9

I didn't check the fabric descriptions as the garments definitely looked like cotton mix in the pictures.
So what about the drab colours? All the photos showed vibrant shades, nothing like the actual garments when they arrived. 🤔

Yes and therefore people say they're not scammers.

Many people have had their cards raided after the event.

Unsafe software, unsafe site.

It's a common scam technique

AdobeWanKenobi · 27/06/2023 13:55

And people keep trying to post affiliate codes for this site as well. The whole thing is dodgy.
