Promoted threads

What's with the sudden deluge of "promoted threads"? Really throwing off the scrolling and there are just. so. many. Are your annoying flickering adverts at the sides of the pages not enough?! Almost more advertising content these days than real threads.

A couple of months ago we made some changes to the way promoted threads appear on topic homepages, AIBU and Active, to bring their design closer to that of regular threads. The aim was to create a less disruptive experience when browsing.

We also changed the way these ads are delivered, so you should see the same promoted threads less frequently and for less time.
