Hi- want some advice from mums about bringing up a child in another country and their language . We are British and my child is fully immersed in local country culture and language and we are not. What thread would you recommend? Basically how she learns to read and write English etx . Hope you can help.

Hi @sofasofa42 - we have a topic called Living Overseas which might be the best place to ask your question. Do you want to start new thread there or shall we move this one over for you?

Expat Forum - Living Overseas Discussion | Mumsnet | Mumsnet

Hi sofa, I‘ll write a reply in the new thread once you’ve moved. JoMumsnet - the Cunning Linguists section might be a good option instead, although Living Overseas is undoubtedly appropriate too.

I think there's a board for bi lingual children, check if it's still there. I also have bi lingual DC as we live in Germany.
