Chat Bots

I've had a look but can't see a thread on this. What are the rules on chat bots? It's so frustrating to see a thread where the OP is pouring their heart out and been given great support or comfort then there's a huge vague post that comes along clearly written by a chat bot.

I get that they're inoffensive but they're just so irritating and wasting everyone's time. I don't understand the purpose.

Hello @GoodChat we just want to clarify what you mean - are you talking about spam, where there is bland text with a spammy link in there? If so then that is treated the same as all other spam. If not, could you give us some more info or link to an example, please? Thank you.

I mean people who are obviously using ChatGPT or similar. The example that made me question it has been deleted so I think that kind of answers my question

Hi @GoodChat we think the post you mean was spam and possibly a bot - they were spamming a link with some anodyne text. We've not noticed any bot-like replies from actual users (who maybe cba thinking of what to post!).
