Has mumsnet become too much of a battle to make the funniest/ most cutting remark at the cost of normal interaction?

I have found that these days, even serious threads are full of irrelevant 'funny' comments and it never used to be like this.
I am not bitching here, as I am sometimes just as guilty.

Is this the competition for quote of the week or something?

(Or people wanting to become the 'new' cod?)

I think with some of the stuff that has been going on recently people have given up giving a fuck (sorry).

So they post what they would have restrained themselves from before.

Depends if it is a P&T parking thread, or a real issue.

Carmenere I beg to differ,

though maybe it's because I am attracted to andpost on different threads to the ones I used to
(i.e pregnancy, nappies)

I had a massage depleated the other day first time for me.

Carmenere · 12/02/2008 18:13

Oh well I can't speak for the pregnancy, nappies or anything related to babies threads as I don't go near them but I would say there has always been a tendency towards the irreverent on mn.

would be happy if was capable of even one of those - being funny, being cutting or able to participate in normal interactions
