In the last couple of days there have been a couple of threads where the OP has posted for advice on protecting her child and got a pile on. While there was some useful advice on the thread the OP may not have spotted it amongst all the posts telling her she is a terrible mum.
The most dangerous time for women and children in abuse situations is when she is leaving a relationship so posters telling her to leave now may be putting her at more risk. I have been in an abusive relationship and managed to leave and protect my child. Fortunately I got better advice than the OP on this thread. *www.mumsnet.com/talk/parenting/4767509-husband-pushed-4-year-old-over-who-fell-and-banged-his-head?page=13&reply=124797650**
It would be really helpful if MNHQ could have a set of resources to post on threads where it is clear that someone is at risk. For example how to call the police without speaking. The national domestic abuse helpline etc. There used to be a pinned post at the top of the relationships board on going into a women’s refuge that is not there anymore but it was so helpful for me.
