Using posts as Facebook advertising

I've seen a few ads where Mumsnet are using real users posts and posting them on Facebook as advertisement.
I just feel like this is no better than journalists using people's posts for articles?
A lot of people post on here with their issues knowing family and friends don't access the site and they use it as a place to seek advice and solace from other mums and like-minded people.
To be posting this on other social media sites surely defeats the object?
I know for sure I won't be coming here for advice any more knowing it poses the risk of being plastered all over Facebook.

Hi OP

We have, for a very long time, shared threads on Facebook and our other social media channels. It isn't a new feature, and we do state in our terms and conditions that we may share content posted on the site.

We do tread carefully and will always avoid sharing anything that could cause upset to an OP, and if we've made a mistake we are always happy to take a look. These posts aren't 'adverts' as such, they are hyperlinked so that the threads can be clicked on and people can view them on the Mumsnet site.

You can read our terms of use in more detail here: www.mumsnet.com/i/terms-of-use
