Petition thread on the ‘Petitions Board’ does not appear on ‘Active ‘

Does anyone know why this would be?

It is like Catch 22. If you put the petition in the most applicable site, (FWR in this case) Mumsnet will move it to ‘Petitions’.

If it is in Petitions no one will see it, because it never appears in ‘Active’.

We haven't excluded petitions from active so we're not sure why threads aren't appearing on there! We're going to investigate and will get back to you when we have an update.

We know it was happening last night late, and today because we began to check following every post and might well have been happening for some time before, but we just hadn’t noticed.

This afternoon I reported the thread under ‘Other’ reason and explained, but haven’t heard back yet. So it’s good you are looking into it.

It is a really important Parliamentary petition which is very close to getting the 100,000 signatures by an April deadline necessary to get a debate in Parliament, but it is seriously at risk of not quite making it. Everyday counts.

It is also one that is very difficult to understand legally, in spite of its importance to women in particular, so this is difficult.

I am now finding the post on the ‘Active’ list but even immediately after posting it only comes 170th on the list and that’s on the ‘load more’ page.

So technically it is there, but it may as well not be.

I checked earlier, when it should have been on active as people were posting, and couldn't see it.
Quite often, Active has posts with 1 comment on.

I just tried posting again and was back to not finding it on active at all, not even 170th.

It is still blocked from appearing on the Active page. This is the thread I mean.

An important petition on the Petition's board had not been showing up on ‘Active’ risking this petition’s narrowly missing the target of 100,000 signatures which would otherwise trigger a Parliamentary debate.

It really is a big problem, and a huge waste of time as before realising that was happening I had been writing posts to try to explain some of the complexities behind the petition to give it a boost seeing as the law is difficult to understand.

(Most of the signatures have come from Scotland following their Gender Recognition Reform bill - because in Scotland they understand only too well now.)
