Turn of thread notifications?

Is it possible to turn off notifications for individual threads?

I would like to be able to write one post giving my opinion and then switch off notifications from that thread when I get bombarded with transphobic responses.

There's no option to turn notifications on or off for specific threads but if you have a look in your settings, there are lots of other options that might help, eg turn on/off notifications for watched threads only, only notify when you're mentioned on a thread etc. So you might be able to have a fiddle with those and make that work the way you want by, for example, not 'watching' threads you don't want to be notified on etc.
