When boards are hidden from active

As you know, the Neurodiverse mumsnetters board doesn't show in active, which is great because we don't get any hassle on there anymore. As a consequence of this though, engagement is down hugely.

It's extremely common for ND people to struggle with object permanence issues, which basically means if we cannot see something, it doesn't exist. Out of sight out of mind type thing. I find myself forgetting about the board as I mainly skim 'active'

My question is, could there be some sort of system where we could 'sign up' to notifications of posts in boards like the neurodiverse mumsnetters or other hidden ones? I hate it when I finally remember, and I go on to see unanswered posts from days ago.

Or even something like, you register for that board so it still shows in active for you.

Hi there @ofwarren ,

One thing you can do is hit the 'Follow Topic' button which will then put the board at the top of your list of topics in Talk. That won't actually notify you of new threads but might help.

In the meantime, we'll pass your thoughts on and see if there's anything more we can suggest to help.

Glad to hear that the ND Mumsnetters board seems to be working well now though, at least.

@ofwarren Actually, I stand corrected! Hitting the Follow Topic button WILL mean you get notifications when a new thread is started in that topic. Hope that's good news!
