Problems loading/viewing pages

Ever since the introduction of the blue 'active, watching' etc strip across the bottom of the forum pages, I've had problems. Pages hanging, loading slowly, the blue strip appearing across the middle of the page, and pages becoming tiny as I navigate. Using a Samsung s22 and chrome. Screenshots attached. Any thoughts appreciated

Morning, @Curledupwithagoodbook. We'll have a look at this now. We know some of our users on Samsung have been having some issues, so we'll look back and see if there's anything we can suggest.

On the slowness of loading threads, could you try reducing your posts per page in your settings to 25 or 50 per page rather than 1,000? That seems to be helping lots of people.

I don't have my pages set to 1000. It's 100. Surely, given Samsung phones are the most commonly used ones, the site should work properly? Photo attached of what's happening today.

Hi @Crispwinterday. You could try it at a lower number of posts per page. If you try 25 and see how that goes, you could then try at 50. That might make all the difference.

If not, though, could you try clearing your cache?

The other thing that might help is using a different browser. You don't say which you are using but anecdotally we are finding that the Samsung browser tends to have the most issues and Chrome seems to work best, so that might be worth a go too.

I'll try clearing the cache, but I do that regularly anyway. I don't want to reduce the number of pages as it suits me to have 100 messages, I prefer to scroll down rather than keep changing the page. The site has worked fine for years so it seems a bit bonkers to have to change settings because of an issue your end.

Unfortunately, lowering posts per page is the only way to fix this issue at the moment. We understand it's frustrating when you're used to viewing more, but it really does work.
