Are usernames case sensitive for PM?

If I sent someone a PM but capitalised their username differently in the name field, will it still get to them?

It wouldn't matter if the username prepopulated!

If I'm on a thread (mobile site, Chrome, Android) and I click the three dots at the bottom right of someone's post, there's an option there for PM, but it just takes me to my PM inbox. I have to click to create a new PM, and remember the poster's username to type into the username field, which is tricky enough without having to remember how they capitalise it too.

It needs to be easier to send a PM to a user from one of their posts.

I actually have the same and it's annoying because I use the app and there's no PMs on the app so I need to faff about copying and pasting.

Thanks @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet — it would make the PM system more functional if it prepopulated, as at the moment there's little point having a link to it from individual posts if that doesn't make it easier to PM that user.
