If I leave MN and look at a different tab for a while, or go away and do something else when leaving it open, it is non-responsive on my return. None of the browser buttons work, none of the links work etc. I have to totally close it and reload it again from bookmarks. It's been doing it on occasion (or loading very slowly) since the supposed upgrade, but much more so in the last couple of days. Makes it unusable over longer periods of time. Something is slowing it down so much that it finally stops.

Firefox on a desktop mac.

Hi there, @Bimbleberries. Yes, as you'll see from that other thread, the best thing to do is clear your cache and cookies and then make sure that you've saved your preferences to show 25 or 50 posts per page. On longer threads, we're finding that where posts per page is set at a larger number, it causes threads to freeze and glitch.

Give those a go and if you're still having trouble on longer threads, please do drop us another line.

yes, my cache is cleared, and the posts should be set to 50 a page. They are not necessarily long threads - it's the site itself that will not refresh. I could be on the list of topics or anything, and the page will not work if it has been open a long time but I've been doing something else. None of the browser buttons like back or whatever will work; the page won't refresh with the browser refresh button or F5; none of the MN navigation buttons will response. The curson won't even turn into the 'hand' cursor from the 'arrow', the way it normally does when you are at a clickable link. It's just non-responsive.
