thread order refreshing every time again

This was a problem when the new site launched, and it was fixed, but now it's back again.

Every time you use the back button - e.g., in Chat - the list of threads is in a new order as it's been refreshed in the time you've been reading. It makes it impossible to keep track of what you've read, or find the thing that you had just seen and were about to read, etc.

Hi @Bimbleberries we'll look into this but in the mean time, you can save threads and posts to read for later (the option is at the bottom of the post).

Saving threads is not going to help if you can't even click on them.

I'm not sure you have understood what this issue is. The list of threads refreshes every time you go back to the page. So if you see a title and think 'that is the next one to read', it's not in the same place when you go back and you can't find it easily. So you can't save it if you've not read it in the first place.

This was a problem that lots of people complained about with the new site, and it was fixed eventually, but not now.

I have exactly this if I "load more" from the bottom of the active page.

The first 50 are fine and the back button takes me back to the original list, but if I load more then the list order refreshes every time.

I used to be able to open links in a new tab, but this has never worked since the site upgrade. My laptop settings are fine and the option works on all other sites bar MN.

Hello again @Bimbleberries . We've just checked what the score is here and apparently what should happen is that in Active, if you click 'back' rather than 'refresh', the list should remain as it was when you last looked at it. But in topics (so that would apply to Chat) the list of threads will refresh when you click 'back', apparently. So you need to be viewing Active threads if you want to return to the same list each time you go back, basically. Hope that helps!

ok, I'll just skip the main topics then, though it seems a shame not to be able to use those any longer. It used to work ok in the topics ,for me at least, but now has gone back to the old way of everything being in random order.
