Why no @ and # ?

Why doesn't the forum home page, nor this sub-forum in particular, seem to have any list of basic options/functions?

At the moment, I'm try to remember about the use of the @ and #, and can find nothing. Don't you think some of this would be handy if prominently displayed for an ignoramus like me?

Hi @MsAmerica the @ function will alert a MNer if they have their notifications switched on. We don't currently have a # function like Twitter. It may not be as useful on a forum like this but we'll have a chat about it. Is there anything else you're unsure of?
