Can we have the ability to hide a thread without opening it?

I like to hide threads that I know will mess with my anxiety. Having to click on them and try not to read the post is a pita - we can watch a thread without opening it, can we have the option to hide them too?

I'm generally using Chrome on Android and never use the app.

I use the web version on an iPhone and have three dots to the right of the title in the Active list of threads - clicking on the three dots gives me the option to hide it without opening it. Do you have that option on your phone?

Swipe left on any thread title.
Hide.
Never need to read

No the 3 dots only give me a watch option, I agree that’s where hide should be

Mobile site on android should give you the option on the three dots or flick to desktop and do it there

Web version on an iPhone for me - no dots.

I don't have an option to hide. Just to watch.

I don't want the app. I prefer to use the browser version!

I would also like this, and would like the threads I hide not to appear in 'trending'.

I'm really sick of people posting stuff that is massively triggering for eating disorders in general AIBU/chat and I can't hide it properly.

I have the option in Active, but not in each topic section.

And I have the option to watch from active, but not hide! And nothing from the topic pages as above. 😄 many different set ups it seems.

In the mobile web page, click on the button that looks like a person, choose Settings, click on the dropdown for More Settings, choose Talk Settings, scroll down to toggle the Hide option

I wish there was an option to hide threads started by certain usernames. Would be very useful (especially on The Royal Family topic).

Oh cool! Just changed settings. Still can’t hide/watch from within a topic but I guess that’s not an issue, for me at least.

I've no idea what my settings say but I use the mobile app (iPhone) and if I swipe left on a thread from the main screen I am in (ie Active, or AIBU) there is an option to hide thread

Morning @LeakyTapTap . There is an option in 'the three dots' to do this but first you have to switch on the ability to hide threads from active. So if you go here: www.mumsnet.com/settings/talk and then scroll down to 'Let Me Hide Threads From My Active Feed' and click 'yes', you should then be able to hit the three dots menu and hide the threads in Active without opening the thread itself.
