Threads I'm On: Did you ever get involved in a thread and wish you hadn't?

Then it keeps popping up in your "Threads I'm On" and you JUST CAN'T HELP YOURSELF from looking at it?

Would be great to have a "remove" link for threads in your "thread I'm on" so you can safely ignore them.

I've done it SO many times. Then the bloody thing keeps following me round mumsnet, whilst I try to get on with the daily business of post-natal clubs and talking about poo, you know?

If you hide a thread does it still show up on threads I'm on? or started?

fryalot · 01/02/2008 16:01

you have to post on as many other threads as you can - preferable quick moving ones.

That way the rogue thread sinks further and further down your screen till you can't see it.

I think Squonk's answer is prob the right one for now but I'll see if there's anything techy we can do to hide the threads you're on..

yummylittlelapin · 01/02/2008 17:41

Lovely Livie, did you get my email?

Oh and do you know that if you look in Search, you can see the posts on threads have been deleted? Obviously only the first few words, but still...

OliviaMumsnet · 01/02/2008 18:31

LL you've got mail.
What do you mean about the deleted bits?

twelveyeargap · 01/02/2008 19:35

Thanks OliviaMN. I'm thinking the same kind of thing that you can do in "active convos", where there's a "hide" link beside the threads.

all the bl**dy time........I'll read a thread title and think

"no musn't even open it"

after looking at it for 15 minutes (and numerous clicks of "refresh" in active convos) I'll end up opening and reading it then I'll think

"no I'll read but not post, or maybe just one post and then leave it".

6hrs later I'm usually still there posting

twelveyeargap · 01/02/2008 19:42

Glad it's not just me. I'm twitching about a couple of threads now.

I hid a thread but it still came up on my threads I was on. I was trying to not find out what was going on in Lost 3.

twelveyeargap · 01/02/2008 19:47

Yeah, if you hide the thread in Active Conversations, or hide the topic in your preferences, any threads you've responded to will still come up in "Threads I'm On".
