Can't read posts on long threads on app

After I get a long way down a long thread, it just closes and takes me back to Active. If I have bookmarked and try to access again, I can't. Been happening for months now.

Happens to me too, you need to change your settings to show 100 messages, it’s a pain but the only way I can get round it.

I'm finding that lots of messages on the app but off mid message, I can see the whole thread but some posts are cut short, it's annoying but not sure what I can do to fix it

Why is there no option on the app to go straight to the end of the thread? We don't have that on the website either but at least when I'm on my laptop I can use Ctrl End to go to the bottom of the thread. On the app it's scroll, scroll, scroll.

Also, when you look at Threads I'm On on the app, all you see is the thread title and the number of posts. The number is white if there are new posts, purple if none. Fine, but on the website you see what the most recent posts are, and you can click on one and go straight there. So much quicker and more convenient.

I've had this happening on the app for several weeks too. There's a thread I'm watching but get to the same post and whoooooosh, app shuts and goes back to the start. So infuriating. Also happens on threads I'm not watching, read down and suddenly it's all gone. Android user here.

@mangoontoast you go to the 3 bars on the top right of the app, go to My Mumsnet, go to Open additional My Mumsnet settings at the bottom ( which I think takes you to the website), then More Settings at the top, than Talk settings and there is an option in there to view by number of posts.

anything less then 100 is a total faff, they need to sort this issue out!

Just flip it using the ⬆️ ⬇️ Then you're at least end of the thread.

Can't do that on Android app either. Is the android app much shitter than the iPhone app?

I can't share a screenshot as the screen just goes blank, then reverts to the standard home page.

@mangoontoast we're aware of a bug with the Android app and are looking to fix it ASAP. We're sorry for the annoyance in the meantime.

@MissSmiley we've had a few new reports about posts/quotes being cut off but we're unable to recreate it. If possible, could you share a screenshot and let us know what device you're using?

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g that's really useful feedback, thank you - we're looking into this. We're not sure what device you're on but you're right that you can't go straight to the end of the thread - though you can flip. On iOS you can flip by opening a thread and clicking the icon in the top right hand corner that’s two arrows facing in opposite directions. On Android you can flip a thread by opening a thread, selecting the blue ‘+’ menu in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and then selecting flip.
