Zombie threads.

There are an abundance of zombie threads (from 2007) appearing on Active, as well as under certain topics. Especially AIBU.

It seems an account is commenting under all of them, which then brings them up to the top.

Is there any way of blocking the account doing this?

Think the account is WayBackWhen07 or something.

Hi @ObjectionSustained this is a troll intent on causing carnage by reanimating old threads, we're afraid. The threads should not be in active for much longer. Thanks for posting.

Just lock all threads after a year of inactivity.

It isn't rocket science.

It's happening again today with the same poster again picking 2007 threads. I've seen at least 3 in the last 10 mins...

Can I be nosy and ask why mn does not want to lock old threads?
It's certainly possible to do so so there must be a reason why you prefer to keep them open.

I don’t see why they aren’t locked after a certain amount of time, like nearly every other forum does.

Even without the stupid new troll people often google stuff, find an old thread and resurrect it either by accident or on purpose. Frustrating.

If MN doesn't want to lock them as a matter of course, why not lock them as soon as a zombie has been to visit?
