Have you had a look at it yet?

There was a long thread on here where lots of posters expressed how uncomfortable they were with the disability bashing that goes on unchecked.

Many posters explained in detail the harm is does and referenced threads as examples.

You then removed the thread in site stuff drawing this to you attention, purportedly temporarily, while you could "have a look at it".

This was several days ago. It hasn't been reinstated. Have you had a look at it yet?

Do you intent to reinstate it and answer the posters who contributed and told you how damaging your stance on this is?

Or just pretend it was taken down temporarily for you to "look at" and never actually put it back and answer the questions?

Meanwhile the hateful threads still mostly stand, I see.

MN’s response to anything of this kind is directly proportionate to how good a lawyer someone has. So you can say whatever the fuck you like about disabled people and trans people and they’ll let it stand, but mention Madeleine McCann and they’re on it like flies on shit. Hmm

Or the Radfords.

Hello @GiantLegoHead we removed the thread because a large number of posts were breaking our Talk guidelines - and the OP was becoming increasingly upset by the direction it was taking. We're really not keen on leaving something up if it's causing that much distress to many posters. We don't ever want to hinder valid debate but we will take action if it's clear posters are refusing to engage sensibly. It's a shame it was withdrawn tbh because the thread is, for the most part, something we consider really valuable feedback into how we can improve our decisions when it comes to reports of disablism/ableism. We fully intend to address the genuine concerns on there - please bear with us while we give this due consideration.

Thank you.

I was the op of the now deleted thread.

I was subjected to horrible attacks from a small number of posters.

The thread ended up typifying exactly what I was talking about, the irony of which was not lost on me.

I would like to see a change in moderation from hq with stronger support for the disabled (in general - not just those with ASD) and clearer deletion messages where posts and threads are deleted.

It's not the job of the disabled to educate and it never should be.
