Won't let me browse posts unless I sign in.

Ok, so the notfications have gone a bit nuts today but I was signed out for some reason...anyway I kept browsing and a pop-up kept appearing asking me to sign up or sign in. You can't keep browsing whilst this pop-up is there. Annoying. A bit like trying to get behind a paywall.

I've signed in now but why is this happening?

Using an Android Samsung phone on Google Chrome.

Hi @Parmesam sorry you found this annoying. The pop-up is something we're testing to encourage users to register or sign in. When signed in, the Mumsnet experience is better - you see fewer ads and have access to a whole range of features that make the site easier to use. But you can click away from the box if you really don't want to register or sign in.

We're testing the frequency with which it displays.

At the moment if you're not registered or logged out it displays:
on the second page of a first thread within one session
on the 15, 30, and 45th page within one session

We think this is about right, but we'll keep an eye on it.

Grrr...just another annoying thing on this site. P,ease don't introduce it.
