Help - MN keeps forgetting I'm a Classic girl!

Dottydot · 26/01/2008 08:54

Not sure why but for the past couple of days when I open MN (i.e. switch the computer on, as it's my home page ) it automatically goes to the new style bizarro MN... I have to re-save to MN classic, posts starting at the bottom, limitless posts on thread etc.

Don't understand why?!

What a drag! I must admit, I can't stand the new format.

This won't help, but I'm not having any problems keeping to the old ways ..

Bumpity bump 'cos it keeps doing it...

Not sure why this is happening - unless, when you log in, you are not clicking log me in until I log out type option. I know that, until I log in, I get the screens up in basic format. Will ask Tech to have a look at this thread.

Hi Dottydot,

It sounds like you are not initially logged in when you come to the site. You may have been in the past but your cookie might have expired. Don't worry if that sounds like double dutch by the way. The short version is just that you need to log in again.

To do so:

  1. Look at the right side of the blue bar at the top of the talk pages. If it says "log out", click it.
  2. Look at the right side of the blue bar at the top of the talk pages. It should say "log in".
  3. Click log in. A popup window opens.
  4. Fill in your nickname and password and set the "remember me" option to yes. Click the log in button. You should get a message saying "welcome dottydot" or words to that effect.

Close that window and you should be all set.

Sorted! Hmm... how can I get my computer to realise it must NEVER log me out of Mumsnet..?!

Hi Dotty! My computer used to log me out automatically too but it hasn't done it since I've used tech's new settings. Perhaps it will be ok this time.
