Constantly having to 'Accept and Close' on every page?!

What on earth is going on here? I have been using Mumsnet for on/off a good few years. Whenever I click on a new page say Home - notifications - to a thread - different pages in same thread, every single time this box pops up.

Is this happening to anyone else? It is being increasingly frustrating to use this site when this happens with every click!

Yes! It started a while back for me, did it for a couple of days and then sorted itself out. It’s now back to doing it again - very annoying.

Pipperleen · 15/09/2022 21:46

Just did it again as I posted that. 😑

parietal · 15/09/2022 21:54

never happens to me

do you have cookies turned off on your browser settings? that would do it.

LetstalkaboutBruno · 15/09/2022 22:34

@Pipperleen It is becoming unmanageable. Happens with every post for me too!

@parietal I turned off cookies, it came up with an error when trying to get on to the website. So I have had to turn them off. It has only just started over the past 24 hours.

It’s happening on my phone too - I’ve just updated to ios16. It’s very annoying and a fix would be very good please

SalviaOfficinalis · 16/09/2022 07:38

Yes it’s very annoying. Started happening to me this week.

It happened a few months ago too but @MNHQ posted a fix and if worked.

Also if I click the “back” arrow on my browser to look at the last thread I was looking at, I get an “access denied” message.

Using safari on an iPhone.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 16/09/2022 07:44

This has suddenly started happening with me this morning (iPhone safari)

Doing my swede in.

Ulysses · 16/09/2022 12:30

Same for me. I tried logging in and out again but it's the same. I'm using Safari on my iPhone with the latest IOS update.

LetstalkaboutBruno · 16/09/2022 16:19

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Seems to be okay on my iPhone (safari) but problematic on my laptop (MacBook; safari).

Hopefully it gets resolved sometime soon!

It does it all the time then if you click back I get a warning message. Only slightly frustrating. It doesn't do it on my phone. Is it a Mac thing?

LetstalkaboutBruno · 16/09/2022 16:24

I have no idea @Bodyisbuggered, but it is bloody annoying

Hi all,

Thanks so much for your patience. We found the issue that was causing you to see the consent pop up on every page and we’ve now deployed a fix.

Could you all try refreshing your page or opening Mumsnet in a new tab? This should sort it out for you. If you’re still having issues, can you please try clearing your Mumsnet cookies one more time following the instructions below for your browser:

iPhone & iPad - Chrome

On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app
At the bottom right, tap More ⋮ > Settings
Tap Privacy > Clear Browsing Data.
Tick Cookies, Site Data. Untick the other items.
Tap Clear Browsing Data > Clear Browsing Data.
Tap Done

Macbook - Safari

Open Safari
Go to the Safari dropdown at the top of the screen
Select Preferences
Head to the Privacy section
Select the Manage Website Data... button
Type Mumsnet into the search box
Click Mumsnet
Select the Remove button
Select Done

iPhone & iPad - Safari

Navigate to your settings
Click on Safari
Scroll to the bottom and choose Advanced
Click on Website Data
Type Mumsnet into the search box
Swipe left on ‘Mumsnet’ and choose ‘Delete’
