Long threads won't load

Why is there a problem with long threads not loading, or freezing. Also freezes if I try to bookmark. It's making these threads unusable for me. On laptop Chrome or Microsoft Edge

For the first time ever I’m finding long threads taking an interminable time to load.

Iphone 11 (15.6.1 if that matters?) on the website.

(No idea how it is on my laptop as I only ever read MN on phone.)

I'm finding that long threads will only allow me to scroll/move down them so far then the thread crashes and I'm dumped back into Active. Android phone using app.

@YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet any chance that threads could be capped at 500 posts until this problem is fixed? It's usually around that point that they start freezing and makes the thread inaccessible.

Are you able to change the amount of posts you view per page in the meantime?

@LilyMumsnet good point, don't know why I didn't think of that. I've reduced the posts and it seems to have done the trick for now at least. Thank you :)
