How is work on Advanced Search going please hq?

I would like to find my posts on a certain TV series I watched and commented about last year OK to my shame it's MAFS

But this is not possible for me given the very sorry state of your search function.

I should be able to do it within 4 clicks? Advanced search - user name - date span - topic (telly addicts).

When are you going to bring it back?

I don't think it will ever come back... sadly

It does seem to be taking a long time. MNHQ has said that they are going to address the issues and bring in improvements to search. I certainly hope so.

I reported my own post above so hopefully, they will come on the thread and give us an update.

I can't even find my own posts with Google Advanced Search any more.

It's making life very difficult.

It's disappointing, isn't it. Google brings up old threads if you can remember the thread title, but that's no good for finding your own or anyone else's posts when you can't remember the thread title. Advanced Search used to work so well.

Last month Mumsnet asked for help with beta testing advanced search, so I imagine it's pretty close.

That's disappointing. Did you get a personal message from MNHQ? It seems odd to promise a more informed update for you, and give a specific day for it, only to then go silent and not provide any update at all.

Hi all - sorry for the delay! We've been through a few rounds of testing now and are at the stage of making sure all the new parts work together. We hope to have a clearer time frame for you as soon as possible and will keep you updated along the way.

I miss advanced search very much too. I used it for searching my own posts either for sharing with others, or because I remember getting great advice on a particular thread. I find it particularly hard to keep on top of my reading list on the 50 Bookers thread without it.

You will make many of us very happy with the return of Advanced Search.

They've been saying it's right around the corner since they inexplicably took it away. They got rid of it for a reason. I wouldn't hold my breath folks.

I agree. MNHQ will keep stalling (as on this thread) until everyone either moves on or forgets about it.

Im still having real problems uploading a post to any longer threads. It literally takes about 5 minutes to upload any comment. Im on an android phone using chrome. Not on the app. Its so off putting and there doesn't seem to be a fix for it.

Sorry to hear this @FayeGovan - is it just on longer threads that you this issue and, when you say, longer - approx how many posts?

Threads with hundreds of posts really. Takes forever to load.

Me too. I'm having trouble even reading long threads, never mind posting on them. Desktop/Chrome.

Apologies for the delay on this. We have a great update on advanced search here. Will the next update mean we are able to search all the posts by a user or is that staying as it currently is? ( currently only shows results if they started the thread )

We've finished all the testing now so fingers crossed we can launch very soon .😀The new advanced search will mean you can search all posts and threads by a username.
