Hide thread vs unwatch thread?

Sorry, I'm probably being extremely stupid. What's the difference between these two? I started a thread yesterday, and regretted it! Decided to leave it for my mental health. But I didn't know which to do, so I did both. Advice appreciated

If you unwatch it it won’t appear on threads I’m watching anymore. If you hide it you won’t see it at all, not on active, or on the board it’s on so it’s a more thorough way of getting rid of it

Ah, thank you. So I guess if you don't want notifications about the thread, hiding it is best? I'll do that

And switch off notifications.

Ah, OK. Thanks

How do you hide a thread? When I press the three dots, it only gives me the option of "Watch".

@WanderingFruitWonderer - it looks like you've had your questions answered by now (thanks to Querkie and bare) Smile but please let us know if you need any further help.

@Zoeslatesttrope - which version of the site are you using? If you're on the desktop site, at the top and bottom of the thread you'll see a purple 'Watch thread' box - next to that you should see 'Hide' in bold.

On the mobile site, at the very top of the thread there's a down arrow in a circle to the right of the screen - if you tap on it you'll get a drop-down menu, with Hide thread as one of the options.

On the app, just swipe left on the title of the thread - there are options to Watch and Hide the thread.

Hope that covers all bases Smile
