Bloody great adverts covering up content again

@MNHQ you know me, I'm not one to moan <snurk> but several times today I've been mid-way through a nice juicy thread when one of those massive "scroll down to see content" ads has planted itself over the top of several posts. The last one (ad for a contact lens plan) covered up half the OP!

Is this intentional?

Hi OP

Can you grab us a screenshot the next time you see this so we can see what you're seeing? And can you let us know what device and browser you're using to access the site?

Greensleeves · 29/07/2022 17:49

Thanks for the reply, I’ll try and get a screenshot. I’m on a Chromebook, using Google Chrome.

Thank you! Flowers

I got one. Making the site unusable. Again. Using iPad and chrome. And it was a thread about electricity use in trending if that helps.

Thanks @antidisestablishmentarianism we'll take a look at this ad.

YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet · 30/07/2022 12:06

@antidisestablishmentarianism is there anywhere on the ad to click that would identify which ad it is? Once we find it we can quickly stop this happening.

antidisestablishmentarianism · 30/07/2022 18:06

Sorry but it won’t do it again! That must be a good thing I guess !

SecretVictoria · 01/08/2022 05:18

I’m getting it again too. If I do rotate, nothing appears just a huge black space covering the screen. iPad on chrome.

loadypoady · 01/08/2022 05:22

I’m also getting this using an iPad on Chrome.

FeltCarrot · 01/08/2022 09:58

Happening to me too! I like to use my iPad landscape. Can’t see a thing. Most annoying.

Morning, everyone. Thanks for the screenshots and other information. We're trying to work out where the ad is coming from. Could anyone let us know what the ad is for? Is it also the contact lens one the OP mentions? If possible, if someone could send us a link to where the ad goes when you click on it, that would be enormously helpful.

Thank you!
