Still painfully slow

... especially on long threads. Is there any prospect in sight of this being fixed?

Hi @Quia ,

Thanks for getting in touch. We do know it's been painful for a lot of users and totally sympathise. We are looking at this right now as part of a larger piece of work, so please be assured it's very much on the agenda and a priority.

Unfortunately, we don't have any specific dates or updates that we can give you at the moment, but as soon as we do we will share that here on Site Stuff.

Have you yet tried changing your preferences to viewing 25 or 50 threads a page rather than a thousand? It's not a panacea but some users have found that's made reading threads easier so might be worth a go.

Thanks for your patience. Flowers

Thanks. I did think of that, but it annoys me more having to keep going to new pages, so I'd rather stick with everything on one page.

I came on to say the same, so frustrating 😡

It is making it totally unusable at times, it takes ages and ages to load a thread and it’s the same length of time if you do all at once or flip through multiple pages.

is it all the ads? I can’t see how the site won’t loose traffic if it continues.

Things seem particularly bad today and I’m getting pages taking a lot longer to respond after I’ve “used” them in someway (like clicking on an image to see it larger or posted a message or something). Im getting lots of partially loaded pages and having to go back a page and reload.

Also, and this is always an issue but worse today, refreshing a window seems to take longer than bringing up a totally new page, going to my browser bookmark for MNTalk and clicking on the thread fresh. (This is one of the reasons I prefer to load all the messages - having to load a few at a time often ends up being more of a time sink than waiting once for the whole lot).

Very slow for me also, I'm pleased to learn that it's not just my computer
