Threads I’m on limit

Is there any way to limit the number of threads on the “threads I’m on” tab? I can’t see how to do it anywhere. I don’t think I need access to quite so many as are showing!

Mine all reappeared but I am pleased to see mn have just added an option to remove them. I have just spent a while deleting them all.

There’s no option to change the time period? It’s going to take bloody ages to manually remove each of them, especially with having to confirm I definitely want to remove them every time.

Shortly after re-platforming, we restricted it to one year but following complaints, we removed the restriction and have added the option to manually remove them. We appreciate that for those of us with a lot of threads, this might seem a rather annoying prospect. The list is paginated though - you should only see the most recent threads on page one. Is this what you're seeing?

Yes, but random stuff from ages ago is now appearing when it didn’t before. I can’t remember what the old limit was but it was much more sensible than a year. There are over 2000 threads. I clearly need to get out more.

Any update on this? It is taking an age to manually remove all the threads I’ve posted on from the threads I’m on list. One I last posted on in 2018 has just popped up. I have no interest in that sort of thing

It was so much better before when they just dropped off on their own. I guess the one bonus for me is I’m posting far less often now. I wonder if others are doing the same.

Regarding changing the number of threads you see, no, we're afraid there's no update on that at the moment. It's tricky because some people wanted to see them all and others, like yourself, find it all a bit messy. We are keeping an eye out for feedback on this issue but an update is unlikely any time soon, unfortunately. There are just lots of other issues that are a bit more urgent that we really need to get sorted first. We will, as we say though, keep it on radar and will be taking on board any feedback from our users on this issue to look at further down the line.

Can we ask about the old threads reappearing on the list though? You mentioned you've got one from 2018. It is likely that that's a zombie thread someone has posted on so that's why it's reappeared suddenly. If it happens again, would you mind just checking if the thread has been posted on again? If not, please do let us know as that means there's a glitch there, but it should just be a reanimated old thread and you can just delete it manually from your list of threads you're on.

Yes, that was a zombie thread that got reanimated. I am slowly working my way through the threads I’ve posted on since I joined. I am now down to 1600 instead of 2000. Really not happy with this change.

I can’t understand what the problem was with the old version. Threads dropped off your “threads I’m on” if you hadn’t posted on them in what seemed like a sensible amount of time.

I like the fact they seem to go back several years. It's interesting if someone reanimates a Zombie I'm on from yonks ago.

Appreciate others don't like this - but it would be great if MN could let those who want to leave it as is; or perhaps just let everyone specify their time-limit of choice.
