Hi MNHQ, I had a thread about Louise Thompson’s birth trauma on chat, it’s off my “TIO” now - why’s that? Has it been deleted and if so, what for?

Hi Liv

Thanks, can’t you just tell me here if it’s been deleted and for what reason? Would be a lot easier if deleted threads stayed on the TIO ;)

Hi @ShirleyPhallus we're working on a fix for this so MNers can see deleted threads/deletion messages as before.

A lot of MNers have direct experience of birth trauma and very many later posts on the thread were either minimising or disputing the experience of someone who has spoken publicly about this. We all know the struggles that many women have in getting medical professionals to listen and take them seriously and so we'd consider such posts to be firmly not in the spirit of the site - which is, ultimately, to make parents' lives easier.

In the end, we didn't think the thread made any of us look good and we couldn't find a justification for leaving it to stand. We hope that explains things but do shout if not.

Thank you, I didn’t see the latter posts and had started the thread in good faith of discussing the (awful) topic of birth trauma so understand if it descended further and had to be deleted

It could be really useful though to have a warning on those type of threads and let the Op know if it’s been deleted rather than it just disappearing?
