PM which I didn’t send

A PM has appeared in my in box. I can’t work out what has happened but it appears to be from me to another user. But I didn’t send it.

Any idea what’s going on?

Just realised I’m being thick.

The “from” is in the box where you reply to DMs.

Ignore me.

Having said that, anyone know if there are security risks re unsolicited PMs? Is it a way for user+randomdigits to get your personal email address?

Just to reassure you re the security of PMs - there's no link there to your email address. All a user can see when they send you a PM is your current username, which obviously they would already know.

Thanks Hebe. The unsolicited PM is probably from someone acting in good faith, but let’s face it, you just can’t tell on here, it’s not like bad faith posters have never happened!
