I changed my email address but MN still has the old one

After the troll reporting email address sharing debacle, I changed the email address Mumsnet have for my account. I also unsubscribed from all the newsletters. So how come I just got an email to the old address? Why is that still associated with my account?

That happened to me ages and ages ago. I just emailed them direct (I think, contacted them and explained anyway) and they got it sorted immediately with an apology.

Report your own post to MNHQ OP because they need to answer this question pretty damn quickly. GDPR breaches left right and centre.

Another OP had their (totally appropriate) thread removed because they had more than one account. The ONLY reason they had more than one ac was because they set one up with a burner email after the last MN data breach.

I think you need to consider reporting this to the ICO yourself, with evidence.

It's clearer and clearer that MN don't take GDPR seriously. Maybe they will if it starts to hit them in the wallet.

I agree with that last post tbh. I’ve also re registered with a burner email but it’s been clear for many years that MNHQ don’t feel GDPR should really apply to them.

SpindleSheWrote · 13/06/2022 07:35

Bloody hell. I thought we were promised this wouldn’t happen any more?

@LookAtMyCircumstance we've sent you a mail.

LookAtMyCircumstance · 13/06/2022 14:24

Yes I've seen the email, thanks for clearing that up as I was still worried after receiving the second newsletter to the old email address.

Hi @YetAnotherBeckyMumsnet

Might you explain to other users how this has happened?
